Back Care/ Iyengar Basics

Tuesdays 5:30 PM- 7 PM

Iyengar Yoga is an amazing method for "intelligizing,' re-organizing and re-calibrating the body. Attention is paid to alignment and how you work from the ground up. When poses are taught and executed correctly, back issues clear up! Short sequences for home practice will be given, and individualized attention insures each person will work safely and to maximum benefit. This series will include meditations to increase your awareness of root issues and help you access innate wisdom for coming back to balance.

Joni is a very experienced Iyengar Yoga instructor with special expertise in helping people with back issues. She initially came to Iyengar Yoga in the late 80's and it gave her immediate relief from chronic lower back pain. The Iyengar method is extremely effective for correcting this issue.

4 weeks, $150 for all 4 sessions Minimum of 4 students, max 8.

Restorative Yoga Beginning Level

Tuesdays 7:15 PM -8:45 PM

Restorative Yoga is beneficial for everyone. The poses are supported with props so the student may hold the poses longer (minimum 5 minutes). This allows for more attention to the breath, encourages deeper levels of awareness, and nourishes the nervous system, immune system, brain and the internal organs. The results leave you feeling refreshed, as if you've had an internal massage.

This is appropriate for all levels, including those who have been inactive or "out of shape" as well as those who want a safe, less athletic approach to coming home to their body. It will include meditations for healing and expert hands on assists. Joni has clear instructions and a soothing voice that invites you to experience each pose as a meditation in itself.
